Seth Binzer, the frontman for the rap-rock band Crazy Town who was known to fans as Shifty Shellshock, has died at the age of 49. Binzer died on Monday at his Los Angeles home, according to his publicist.

The cause of death has not yet been released. Binzer had been open about his struggles with addiction in the past, and had been in and out of rehab in recent years.

Crazy Town rose to fame in the late 1990s with their hit song "Butterfly." The band released three albums before disbanding in 2003. Binzer continued to perform as a solo artist after the band's breakup.

In addition to his music career, Binzer also appeared on two seasons of the reality TV show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." He was also a vocal advocate for mental health awareness.

Binzer's death is a loss to the music world and to the many people who were touched by his music and his advocacy for mental health awareness.
