Okafor Hoping To Replicate Olimpico Glory And Lead Milan Against Lazio

Okafor hoping to replicate Olimpico glory and lead Milan against Lazio

Nigerian forward set to make his first start for the Rossoneri against the Biancocelesti

Okafor hoping to make a positive impression as Milan look to return to winning ways

Cyriel Dessers was a handful for the Milan defence, scoring a fine goal and hitting the post twice. The Nigerian had not started a game for the Rossoneri since the 3-1 defeat to Sassuolo on 29 August.

However, Stefano Pioli has confirmed that the 28-year-old will start the match against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday.

Okafor will be hoping to replicate the form he showed on his debut for Milan, when he came off the bench to score a superb solo goal in the 2-0 win against Hellas Verona.

"I am very happy to be here," said Dessers after the game. "I want to thank the coach for giving me the opportunity to play. I want to do my best for this team."

Milan will be looking to return to winning ways after their disappointing draw with Cremonese at the weekend.

The Rossoneri are currently fourth in the Serie A standings, five points behind leaders Napoli.

Lazio, meanwhile, are eighth in the table, seven points behind Milan.

The match at the Stadio Olimpico is sure to be a close affair.

Milan will be hoping that Okafor can make a positive contribution and help them to victory.
